The SMT 160-30 consists of a temperature-dependent semiconductor element and an A/D transformer. The sensor delivers a pulse width-modulated square wave signal with the same amplitude as the power supply (1 to 4 Hz) and a frequency in the range from 1 to 4 kHz. The pulse ratio is proportional to the temperature.
